TeleGram consists of four musicians playing “folk-inspired acoustic chamber pop”!
Cello, violin, mandolin and banjo along with different guitars give their music a rich sonic pallet. You hear melody lines that echo the old school soul music as well as strong impulses from the world of dusty Americana. The gentle string arrangements resonate somewhat of classical music, alongside the spontaneity and the improvisations from jazz.
Crucial to the bands expression are the songs! Several of the band members sing, and contribute to leading the songs. The vocal interaction gives an important characteristic to the band’s sound, together with the lyrics that are poetic and expressive, like small evocative poems.
The band members possess a broad musical experience from numerous band collaborations and projects on the Norwegian music scene. With TeleGram they embrace the open, delicate sonic landscapes and the transparent instrumentation, and they very fittingly label it “chamber pop”.
